Hanna firstly great rankings of the albums and the EP's did you know to mark 40 years, that the album "The Moon And The Melodies" has been remastered by Robin Guthrie and is about to be re-released on Vinyl and CD on 23rd August 2024 (Matt) P.s my number 1 album is "Blue Bell Knoll" and a non album track I've always loved is "Watchlar"
Hi, can you tell me what record stoarage unit you are using for your collection behind you ? I really love the look of that unit, your albums fit perfectly and it has a streamline look thats perfect. Thank you
great videos! my suggestion for obscure jangle is The Primitons _ Happy All the Time . Contemporaries of Windbreakers, dB’s etc
Great review. Shout out to Watchlar as a hidden gem. Love that track.
Mi-Sex (nw/pp) and Mental As Anything (80's pop/alt pop). Also Sherbet and Little River Band and Midnight Oil. Also-also, make sure you pick up all the Hoodoo Gurus albums as far as Crank.
Soft Boys underwater moonlight 🌙
If you like I Look Around there's a better version on a comp from that time, Warf Rat Tales. Also has one of the greatest LA garage bands from that time, The Leaving Trains are on it. Also, different members of the Psychedelic Underground got together back then and played songs by Neil Young, Alex Chilton, great version of I'll Be Your Mirror with Susanna Hoffs on vocals, maybe Dave Roback on guitar. (It's been a while). On a record called Rainy Day. Dan Stuart and Steve Wynn collaborated on a record called Danny and Dusty The Lost Weekend. Anyways, I was 17 at the time, living in LA and catching all those great bands live. Thanks for rekindling those memories.
MY NO 1 HARDCORE PUNK BAND IS BLACK FLAG ||||
i just love your content, first rate i,m hesitant to leave any comment, since . the last time i made an inquiries-crickets. i just chaulk it up to busy life. so i might suggest checking out, the reverbs from Chicago and the dangtrippers from Iowa. jangle AF. i apologize if you covered already. regards, Brian
Nice overview. I got into Cocteau Twins around the time of Treasure, and remained a fan. through the rest of their career. It has been way too long since I've sat down with their music and that's something I need to remedy. Thanks for reminding me how great they were!
I loved this!!
La filmación no es muy buena. El reflejo a veces no ayuda. En fin la idea es que no todos dominamos el Inglés y sería bueno poder tener los nombres de las bandas un tanto más claro. Gracias por mostrar tanto buen disco.
I remember when Mia was killed in July 93,only rock star I cried when I heard they died.i used to see them live every chance could.i stood next to her a few times but was to scared to speak to her.another unknown seattle punk band-the dc beggars.only had sinngles out.amazing live band.
Press The Eject and Give Me The Tape is probably one of the top 3 live albums of ANY band of ANY genre to me, like it's so cohesive and it sounds incredible on the non-bootleg vinyl.
I just watched your 1980, and 1981 videos, lots of great stuff there. I noticed not even one mention of Oingo Boingo. They had an their first EP in 1980, and Only A Lad, their first full length album that came out in 1981. It was interesting to me that you mentioned SOOO many other new wave bands that Oingo Boingo fans also dig.
I have a soft spot for Exquisitely Bored... Not sure why. Its just really appealing.
You did great! Keep on!🤩
Holy Grail T shirt to,, Lush & Joy Division are my 2 favorite bands ever,, Hanna you have exceptional taste !
dear Omaha, have you heard of Superchunk ? maybe the biggest indie power pop ever !
Badfingers manager stole all their money is why 2 of them committed suicide.
Go Blue, i'd rather be in Ann Arbor ! miss introvert you seem to have great taste in music.
are the Replacements Power-Pop ? or did Paul Westerbergs love for Big Star & Alex Chilton help you choose them , i always considered the Mats post punk but i don't put a lot of credence into labels ! most interesting musical acts use all types of genres .
Pete Townshend & the Who are among my early favorites, but i don't get you idolizing Pete so much, even though he seems like a decent guy,,.have you heard of the Who's july 13 1968 performance at the Grande Ballroom ? they had to catch a flight immediately after the concert and told the fans they would play another hour if the fans helped them load up their gear after the show as they had no roadies for the show. the fans agreed & quickly helped the band pack and make it in time for their flight.
I’m a bit late in responding to your video, but I just had to weigh in. Love the British goth and Post Punk scene from ‘77 through ‘87. Although I’m familiar with The Sound, I don’t own the one you mentioned. I think you’ve sold me on that one. And it’s hard to come by anyone who’s into both Wire and The Fall. Those are my two favorite punk bands ever. I discovered Wire through ‘ 154 ‘ and was blown away by its original, industrial style. Also, I can’t say enough about ‘ Strange Times. ‘ That album is just absolute ear candy and loaded with treasures. The Chameleons are WAY overlooked, as well as ‘ Echo ‘. Love your shirt, by the way. And wow, you’re even into Tuxedomoon ? Your taste is impeccable ! I would be hard pressed to find anyone who digs THAT highly unique act. You’ve impressively covered the whole genre. I’m glad I tuned in 👍.
Anything from Flying Nun?
Some great choices, have you heard The Scars-'Author Author'(1981) album? It was their only studio album and I have loved it for over forty years.
Hey Hanna, im sorry its been maybe a year or more since ive left any comments, but i havent ever forgotten about you. You brought light into my dark days and i felt just great being able to connect with you over albums, especially From The Lions Mouth and Wire's superb 154. You'll be delighted to know what made me want to just say hello. Im watching Easy Rider and when The Byrds' I Wasnt Born To Follow played, i love the song and know your deep love for them. So hello, hope youre doing ok and i hope to follow and comment on your future videos. Thanks and Hi to Chris? I think, he seems a lovely guy, take care Danny.
I am English and can confirm you are now pronouncing 'Chiswick' correctly.
I have been watching your videos for only a few months, but I marvel at your wide ranging knowledge of bands and music genres. I am sad that you have not made any videos for several months. I do hope everything is okay with you...body, soul and spirit.

Yes! Finally HOH receiving it's well-deserved praise! Btw, what other post-punk records do you recommend? Seems like we've got a similar taste.
Some good pics here.I especially took note of the Gene Clarke albums. Other underrated classics Groundhogs-Hogwash Stray-Saturday Morning Pictures Atomuc Rooster-Death Walks Behind you Nick Drake-5 Leaves Left John and Beverly Martyn-Stormbringer It's a loooong list
Last summer I found a couple copies of Bellybutton and Split Milk respectively by Jellyfish in a box full of mostly punk CDs.I didn’t end up keeping them cuz I had found Bellybutton at a record store on my birthday last year and the latter ended up being unplayable so definitely need to find a copy of Split Milk.I also happened to have come across a copy of an album by Bowery Electric while I was up in Toronto for my birthday last month and i wanted to get it but was working on a budget…would’ve been cool to get it tho!
As well as Magazine Howard Devoto had a great solo album of which I used to have a cassette.
Hi Mike from Omaha I've been collecting records for 50 years

I was a college freshman in1985. Jangle pop was played 24/7 on the campus radio station.
Brilliant to see Velvet Crush get props! Such cool guys and a great sound. Ric and Paul were in Champaign when I was going to school there and got to see them play many different bands. Nice breakdown of the genre. Keep it ip
Hi Hanna, did you state that 45 Grave were one of the first goth rock bands? I find them a mediocre version of early Alice Cooper. I bought their album and found it to be cartoonish, so I traded it in. I suggest to you that one of the first serious gothic rock albums was The 1968 debut album by Iron Butterfly titled HEAVY. It had the dark vibe with the baritone vocals, the syrupy organ and heavy guitars. What about the debut by the Velvet Underground? Now that had a serious goth vibe! Nico was the first goth goddess , the rock ice queen. ? "All Tomorrows Parties" might have been the first gothic song ever...
Hi, miss you. Hope all is well. See you soon I hope, if not ALL the best.
Cool stuff Hannah!
Luv Odyssey & Oracle,an absolute Psych Rock classic.Never Hear The End Of It by Sloan has been one of my favourite albums since the late 2000s when I was in high school, like how u described it has a great flow with each song.I saw them live back in 2018 and they were fantastic and even posted some highlights from the show on my Instagram stories on my main page…gr8 video Hannah!
I wasn’t sure if you knew but the debut Legal Weapon EP has been reissued. It has been one of my biggest wants.
Hey!!! Okay, whoa!!!! I’m for sure gonna look that up and pick up a copy. Did Radiation Reissues put it out? Thanks for letting me know. 🎸🔥
@@TheOmahaIntrovert It is on Mono Records. I picked up a copy at Going Underground Records. I just listened to it. I don’t think it is as good as the first two full length albums with Frank Agnew and Steve Soto. I am a big fan of Patrica Morrison since she was in the Bags and also Legal Weapon, The Gun Club, Sisters Of Mercy and The Damned.
@@TheOmahaIntrovert Good luck with the new job.
